EuroChoir 2018

Helsinki and Tallinn, Finland and Estonia, Europe 19 July - 01 August 2018
EuroChoir offers the opportunity to 60 young singers to get together for 9 days to rehearse a challenging program with two renowned conductors, improve their vocal skills and present the results of their work in public concerts. The conductors of this edition will be Maria van Nieukerken (NL) and Mikko Sidoroff (FI). They will develop a programme around new approaches to staging and relations to the audiences. EuroChoir 2018 is part of the "sing outside the box" project. It takes place in Helsinki just before the EUROPA CANTAT Festival. The singers will travel to Tallinn to give the final concerts in the frame of the festival, and they can, if they want, attend the ret of the festival as participants! A very special edition that closes a three year cycle (Italy, The Netherlands, Finland).

World Peace Choral Festival Vienna 2018

  
Vienna, Austria, Europe 25. - 30 July 2018
The initiators of the World Peach Choral Festival, the artistic director of the Vienna Boys Choir, Gerald Wirth and renowned choir musicians from all over the world invite youth and children´s choirs a platform to present their music under the motto: “Join together and sing for a better future!” The participants can choose between the festival category (non-competitive) and the competition category. Classical music and folk music are admitted. The festival program includes an opening ceremony at St. Stephan´s Cathedral, a choir performance at the United Nations Headquarters and a closing event with a gala concert in the Golden Hall of the Vienna Musikverein. The participants of the festival category have the possibility to take part in workshops under the direction of well-known choir musicians. The 9th World Peace Choral Festival

   
Vienna, Austrian, Europe 26. - 29 July 2018
the 9th World Peace Choral Festival in Vienna from 26th to 29th July 2018 is open for application. Children choirs as well as enthusiastic adult choirs are welcome to participate at this unique choral event in the capital of music, supported by the Austrian federal government authorities, the city government of Vienna, the famous Vienna Boys Choir, the United Nations Headquarters in Vienna, NGOs, enterprises and a series of personalities. European Award for Choral Composers

  
Tallinn, Estonia, Europe 27 July - 05 August 2018
The next edition of the European Award for Choral Composers, published in 2016, will be organised in 2017, with the winning compositions being performed in the Festival EUROPA CANTAT XIX in 2018. Compositions can only be nominated by a national or regionalfederation, member of ECA-EC who can submit up to 3 works in eachcategory, composed by one or different composers within the past five years. Categories: (a) choir a cappella (b) choir accompanied by up to four instruments Every choral formation from two to four parts (divisi allowed), for mixedor equal voice choirs of all kinds of genres (classical, pop, jazz, etc.)The performance time of a composition is limited between minimum three and maximum nine minutes. Awards:Each awarded work will be performed in the frame of the festival EUROPA CANTAT XIX in Tallinn, Estonia, in July/August 2018. The composers of thewinning works will be invited to the festival. In addition ECA-EC will usetheir best endeavours to promote the publication and the spreading ofthe awarded scores. Deadline for applications: April 30th 2017, the winning compositionswill be chosen by September 2017.
