Pura Vida Costa Rica!

Pura Vida Costa Rica has been designed with three essential ideas in mind, Service, Singing and International Friendship. Combining exchange concerts with local choirs, an opportunity for community service and culminating in a festival of international song led by esteemed conductor, Dr. Cristian Grases, conductor of the University of Southern California’s Thornton Concert Choir, this festival is sure to excite the hearts and minds of all participants. Additionally, individual performance opportunities are available while in San Jose as well as during the optional pre or post festival touring programs to Arenal or Jaco. Pura Vida Costa Rica will build bridges and transform lives through the power of music.

5th International Copernicus Choir Festival & Competition

PER MUSICAM AD ASTRA International Copernicus Choir Festival & Competition will for the 5th time present a great opportunity for integration of the choral community and promotion of choral music. Its name refers to the figure of the famous astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus who was born in the city of Toru?, which is a friendly host of this event. The Festival will include performances by mixed, male, female, youth and children choirs and vocal ensembles from all over the world. Over the course of 5 days participants will compete for the Grand Prize, with more than a dozen accompanying events, including Friendship Concerts in the whole region. The beautiful settings make them an unforgettable experience. The optional educational program is an important part of the Festival. Join us and take part in workshops and seminars.

"Requiem for the Living"

“Overall, the work is a prayer for rest (‘Requiem’) for the living, as much as for the deceased. It’s a “grant US rest,” even more than a “grant THEM rest.” - Dan Forrest, Guest Composer   This unique festival tour, aptly set in Normandy, promises to be an artistically rich, poignant and inspirational journey through an area of France, steeped in historical significance. Offering choirs the opportunity to perform a beloved large choral work in close collaboration with the composer, working with a French orchestra and one of the finest choral educators of our time, in iconic, historic sites, this festival tour will challenge and engage the hearts and minds of every participant and create profound memories to last a lifetime.   The festival is led by Artistic Director Dr. Pearl Shangkuan, Director of Choral Activities at Calvin College in Grand Rapids MI and Dr. Dan Forrest, the composer of the “Requiem for the Living”, who will accompany the participating choirs.

London International A Cappella Choral Competition

Serenade! Washington DC Choral Festival: A JFK 100 Celebration

Join the international choral festival The Washington Post calls a “True Harmonic Convergence!” The special 2017 edition co-presented with the Kennedy Center will celebrate the centennial of President Kennedy’s birth and one of his key legacies, the Peace Corps. Youth and Adult choirs from Peace Corps countries, as well as select choirs from the U.S. and abroad will enjoy concerts in prestigious venues all over the Washington D.C., Maryland and Virginia areas and a grand finale at the Kennedy Center Concert Hall conducted by Joshua Habermann, director of the Dallas Symphony Chorus and Santa Fe Desert Chorale. Festival participants will experience enriching cultural exchanges with many international festival choirs, musical development during workshops with notable conductors and will partake in outreach and educational events in the spirit of the Peace Corps. In addition, they will explore the vibrant nation's capital, its sites such as the Smithsonian Museums, the National Monuments, the White House, and many more fantastic Washington, D.C. icons. Serenade! the grand choral celebration in America’s Nation’s Capital offers an unforgettable, life-changing experience for choirs and audiences alike. Serenade! is an annual festival established in 2011.   2017: June 27-July 4 - Special Edition honoring John F. Kennedy Centennial and Legacy. 2018: June 28-July 2

40.Bydgoszcz Musical Impressions

Pa?ac M?odzie?y in Bydgoszcz invites to take part in the jubilee international festival - the XXXX Bydgoszcz Musical Impressions (International Meetings of Young Musicians) which is going be held from 29th June to 4th July 2017. The festival is organized under the auspices of the Ministry of National Education and the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. Up to now we have hosted groups from 39 countries. We offer the participation in the competition, workshop as well as socializing and recreational programme (concerts, a national evening, a parade, a sightseeing in Bydgoszcz and the region, a gymnic hall and a swimming pool). The participants of the XXXX Bydgoszcz Musical Impressions can be the following youth groups: - choirs - orchestras - instrumental groups - vocal and instrumental groups - jazz and popular music groups - folk groups - old music groups - other forms (vocal groups, rock bands for example) Conditions of participation: - age of participants - not exceeding 25 years - only live music - one Polish piece in the repertoire for the competition - accreditation fee - 60 euros per person   The detailed information (regulations, application form and the gallery from the last festival) is available on the website bim.palac.bydgoszcz.pl (English version)
