Since Europa Cantat moved its seat to Bonn in the year 2000 it has been co-operating with the  Bonner Schumannfest (Endenicher Herbst) and different choirs in Bonn with the financial support of the City of Bonn and the Cultural Ministry of the Land Nordrhein-Westfalen, the Landesverband Rheinland LVR and different foundations for some projects.

Programme 2012

On November 3rd 2012 at 17.00 we will organise a concert in the frame of the Bonner Schumannfest with the children's choir of the Opera La Monnaie in Brussels, La Choraline (BE) and the children's choir of the Opera in Bonn. On October 26th 2012 the Zürcher Sing-Akademie conducted by Timothy Brown (UK) will give a concert at 9 p.m. in St. Maria Magdalena in Bonn-Endenich. Among others they will sing the first integral performance of the cyclus "Ierusalem" by Volker Wangenheim in the presence of the composer, as well as works by Palestrina, Purcell and Stanford. At 4 p.m. they presented the cyclus in a workshop. Pictures of the event can be found >>here.

 

On July 29th 2012, Markus Schuck,director of the Bonner Schumannfest, invited conductors and guests of the festival EUROPA CANTAT XVIII Torino 2012 to a reception in honour of Robert Schumann. In March 2012 a fundraising concert was organised with the Youth Choir of the Friedenskirche in Bonn conducted by Katharina Wulzinger and the Mixed Choir of Tallinn english College from Estonia conducted by Margot Peterson, with profits going to the association "Friends of Choral Music in Europe". On November 5th there was be a concert of the Torino Vocalensemble, directed by Carlo Pavese in the frame of the Bonner Schumannfest. Details >>here

On November 6th, 14.00 - 16.00, Carlo Pavese held a workshop for singers and conductors in the Clara-Schumann Gymnasium in Bonn. Details >>here.

In March 2011 a fundraising concert was organised in connection with the founding of the association "Friends of Choral Music in Europe", with the Schedrik Choir and the Junger Chor Aachen.

On June 6th 2010 Europa Cantat organised a workshop with Lone Larsen.
On June 7th Europa Cantat, the Schumannfestival of Bonn and Bonn Lighthouse organised a fundraising concert with Voces Nordicae and Lone Larsen on occasion of the 200th anniversary of Robert Schumann. >> more

Programme 2009

On July 29th 2009 Europa Cantat co-organised a special concert in cooperation with the Bonner Schumann Festival -Endenicher Herbst - at the occasion of the 199th death anniversary of Robert Schumann - the World Youth Choir gave a concert in the evening and sang during a ceremony in the afternoon.
