After the first Africa Cantat in 2020, which was planned in Nairobi (Kenya) and was organised online due to the pandemic, the African Confederation for Choral Music with the support of IFCM , A Coeur Joie International and the European Choral Association are proud to announce the second edition of the festival which will take place on 1-6 August 2023 in Yaounde, Cameroon, and will be hosted by the association Amis du Choeur Madrigal du Cameroun.

Africa Cantat is a non-competitive international festival aiming to bring together singers from around the world to promote choral music heritage, showcase the rich choral life from Cameroon and hear the diversity of choral music from the other regions in Africa and other countries worldwide.

The festival is open to choirs, singers, conductors, composers and managers and will offer ateliers with world renowned conductors, daily open singing and a rich programme of activities for conductors and composers.

On the stage, the festival artistic programme will cover a wide range of performances:concerts by invited choirs & ensembles, concerts by participating choirs on their own repertoire and concerts by workshop participants conducted by Ateliers leaders.

Choirs wishing to participate in the festival can already contact the organisers at info@africacantat.org.
