Deadline for applications: 1/5/2017

The International Chamber Choir Competition Marktoberdorf is recognised as being one of the most prestigious competitions for chamber choirs in the world. With this International Masterclass for Choral Conductors, the Bavarian Music Academy Marktoberdorf and the International Chamber Choir Competition Marktoberdorf are  offering a chance to combine the musical impressions and experiences gained during the competition with an intensive follow-up seminar. The seminar is, however, also open to participants who are not able to attend the International Chamber Choir Competition.

Participants must be experienced choral conductors. A particular speciality of the seminar is the fact that one of the excellent choirs participating in  the 15th International Chamber Choir Competition Marktoberdorf 2017, will serve as studio choir. In the most recent Masterclasses since 2009, this was the winner of the mixed choirs category. This unique feature offers the participants the chance to work with an internationally excellent choir during the seminar.

Contents of the course:

  • Conducting techniques
  • Vocal training
  • Intensive rehearsal of works prepared before the seminar

The seminar aims to provide participants with as much practical experience as possible
