News on EUROPA CANTAT XIX Pécs

The Music Commission of the European Choral Association – Europa Cantat and the Regional Artistic Committee for the festival EUROPA CANTAT XIX in Pécs in 2015 have decided on the themes for the festival. The main theme chosen is “Crossroads”, symbolising Pécs as city and the festival as crossing of different countries, different cultures, different religions and different music styles. The sub-themes are “Roots & fruits” for tradition and innovation, linking the past, the presence and the future, and “Open Gates” showing our openness to the neighbouring countries, to other Arts Forms and to new ideas and new music. A call for proposals has been sent out to the member organisation, the Board, Youth Committee and Music Commission as well as to the Advisors and Music Consultants of the European Choral Association – Europa Cantat, asking for their concrete ideas for the festival.
