European Award for Choral Composers 2012 - Official Award Ceremony

Official Award Ceremony for European Award for Choral Composers in Turin

The Offical Award Ceremony for the European Award for Choral Composers took place at the festival EUROPA CANTAT XVIII Torino 2012 on August 2nd. Sante Fornasier, President of the European Choral Association - Europa Cantat and Jonathan Rathbone, chair of the jury, handed over the awards to the three prize-winners and to representatives of the organisations which had suggested the compositions.

On April 16th 2012 the Jury of the European Award for Choral Composers selected the winning compositions of the European Award for Choral Composers 2012 of the European Choral Association – Europa Cantat. 38 compositions from 11 countries were submitted to the competition. Three compositions by Pierre Chépélov (FR), Levente Gyöngyösi (HU) and Maarten Van Ingelgem (BE) were chosen as winners. These three works were performed at the festival EUROPA CANTAT XVIII in Turin (further details as well as excerpts from scores, sound files and contact information on the composers >> here).
