European Award for Choral Composers 2012

 

On April 16th 2012 the Jury of the European Award for Choral Composers selected the winning compositions of the European Award for Choral Composers 2012 of the European Choral Association – Europa Cantat.

38 compositions from 11 countries were submitted to the competition, the jury selects 3 winners from choral compositions submitted from all over Europe, two special mentions were also awarded.

Winner of Category A:

 

 "Bestiaire fantasque“  (2011)  for children’s choirs,
composed by Pierre Chépélov (FR *1979), Text Claude Roy

“Bestiare fantasque” was performed in the frame of the festival EUROPA CANTAT XVIII by the female voices of the choir Meridies (Argentina), on July 31st 2012 at the Conservatory.

 "Gloria Kajoniensis" (2008 - Kontrapunktmusic) for female choirs,
composed by Levente Gyöngyösi (HU *1975)
